RUGGED COASTLINES
The Australian coastline when seen from the air takes on a spectacular variety of shapes and forms. Jutting headlands, underwater reefs, clear blue lagoons and rocky cliffs all look stunning from above.
Colours we expected to be aqua or deep blue turn out to be green or azure. Often there are stretches of sand and tiny bays below towering cliffs, rarely traversed by people and accessible only from the sea.
Many of my coastal shots are taken in the south western corner of Western Australian along the hiking trail which extends between the lighthouses at Cape Naturaliste and Cape Leeuwin. I often hike along the trail from a handy car park before launching a kite or drone to capture the rugged coastlines from the air.
