Aerial Photography by Al EdgarAerial photography is my passion and the Australian coastline my inspiration - over 35,000 km of rocks and sand adds up to a lot of possibilities!
Beaches, bays, headlands and islands are all there to photograph. Some are incredibly difficult to access and others are as easy as a Sunday afternoon drive. Kites and drones are my platforms of choice with the kites on top for sheer lifting power and the drones a close second for their ability to reach out against the prevailing wind. Many of my photographs have been taken near Perth in Western Australia where the sun shines more than any other Australian city! Surfers and kite surfers feature prominently in my portfolio as the view from above is often quite spectacular and the beaches here have a beautifully glow at sunset. I use interchangeable lens cameras including the Sony NEX5 and A6000 with additional lenses from Rokinon, Minolta and Voigtlander. I also fly the Panasonic GM1 and the Xiaomi Yi. |
